24 Sep 11

Here are today's pictures... I actually got more than one!

As I was leaving the club, I noticed the flowers.  The bee was a bonus, even better was the eyes closed, enjoying the sweet nectar...

Maybe this should be my trademark...sunflowers (or some plant) in front of a wonderful landscape...  I seem to do a lot of these

22-23 Sep

I'm not getting the creative juices flowing right now...maybe this afternoon.

22 Sep:  as i was driving home, I looked up the mountain and noticed the leaves changing colors...

23 Sep:  Finally watching a movie after many months...however, with Netflix's recent announcement, I guess I won't see this envelope anymore ;-(

Not that we're quitting Netflix, we'll just get the new 'Quickster' envelope.  After 10 years of this, it will be different.

Dinner at the club, this is the view (although it got just a bit chilly...)

That's the short game practice area in the foreground...

20 Sep:  I can't believe it's almost the end of Sept.  Where has this year gone?

15-19 Sep

15 Sep:  Headed back east to Dayton for 1/2 marathon and retrieving the airplane.

bolt in prop at Terri's house...

16 Sep:  Lots of things to do today...Joanne redid the landscaping of our house.  It looked pretty good.

17 Sep:  ran 1/2 marathon, then flew to Peoria, IL.  There was a car show at the mall across from my hotel.

18 Sep:  Long day of flying from IL to WY, with a stop in NE.  We have now landed the plane in 29 states over the 8 years we have owned it.  Tomorrow is #30.  This was after I tied down in Laramie, WY for the evening.  Amazing that the first flight was in the clouds, but smooth as butter, but the second in the clear was really bumpy.  BTW:  NE is boring from the air as well as the ground!

19 Sep:  Green River, WY

There was still snow on the mountains!  The folks in Laramie were telling me that they had 200% snow fall.  One of the passes that usually opens in May, didn't open till Jul...wow

I am safely on the ground in Ogden.  Now to find a hangar for the little one.  It was quite a trip.

10-14 Sep

Sorry, went out of town on 10 Sep.  I got to see a friend after 21 years.  We were close during high school, but went separate ways.  We reconnected a couple of years ago, so when I was going to Tucson for a trip, we had the opportunity to reconnect.  It was fun, it was like we had never stopped being friends.  She has a great family and does great jewelry work.  I didn't take any photos of her pieces, but she did teach me how to do it, so now I have more projects to finish!

10 Sep:  Peg's dog, Daisy.  What a clown!

11 Sep:  Cactus.  I usually only travel on business trips with one lens, since I was going to Tucson, I decided on the landscape.  I really needed the macro!

12 Sep:  Not my best...late rainy night trying to be social, almost forgot.

13 Sep:  Tucson at sunrise...

14 Sep:  Time to get the bird!

6 Sep

It took way too long to find the engineering paper for this set-up.  One would think that two engineers in the house would have lots of this stuff...

And it just occurred to me, I should have used an engineering text book...wait, we got rid of most of them!

Sorry, no veggies tonite...

There are actually 3 pictures taken today that I thought I'd post:

One gets funny looks when a tripod is set up on the green...I'm a bit disappointed that it was cloudy today, but you take what you get!

Fireworks at the club...

The good thing about not being able to play golf till after lunch...the local farmer's market.  (it's not that I can't, only the men's league plays in the morning, then it's busy till around 1300.  I started at 1430 and finished at 1645).

2 Sep 11

There's a balloon festival and stampede on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake.  It's the largest island in the lake and is home to bison, antelope and all sorts of other neat creatures.  This morning, the balloons were taking off from nearby.  I got some good close-ups and even got to help launch one of the balloons!

1 Sep

Can you believe that I've actually taken a picture a day and although I've come close, haven't missed yet... that's 244 pictures over the course of these 8 months.  I didn't think I could keep it up when I started, but only 121 remaining!  Unfortunately, it doesn't get any easier.
