29 Jul: I made Deviled Shrimp for dinner. One of my childhood favorites that I always mess up the frying of the shrimp. Tonite they turned out perfect. My food photography skills haven't improved much over the 7 months I've been doing this. It's tough, since I only photograph what I'm having for dinner, so usually rush to get the pictures so I can eat while it's still hot.

16-24 Jul 11

16 Jul: Mushroom

17 Jul: Almost forgot to get a picture. Mark and I competed in the club championship over the weekend. I forgot how to play, but then turned and caddied for Mark on the rest of his round (and made many of the men jealous).

18 Jul: Yes this is the wild west...they even shut down the main thorough fare for a horse parade.

19 Jul: Ropes course at Utah State. We didn't do this challenge, but some others that were the same height.
It's amazing what one can do when you know you have a safety net to catch you...

Pinehurst Comparison

For comparison, here are two pictures of the same hole. Not one of the more drastic changes, but still quite a bit of change. The first one was taken in Dec, so the rough was brown anyhow...

12-15 Jul

Time is getting shorter and shorter...

12 Jul: I got Mark a new laptop today that he could take with him on the deployment. So after I spent the afternoon loading all the software, what does he go for first...Civilization, go figure...

13 Jul: Our last vacation together for a while. March is a long way off... We played Tobacco Road, but the thunderstorms were surrounding us, so we pushed hard to play and not take pictures.

14 Jul: Double turn golf at the Dormie Club and Pinehurst # 4. Dormie Club is great layout with superb conditions. I think we were the only tee time this morning, so we had the course to ourself (well, the caddie, Jimmy G, was there as well). Pindehurst #4 is always a great treat. The caddie (Keith) we had there was great. He's looped for Trevor Immelman and a few others. We requested him for the next morning on the redone Pinehurst #2.

I birdied this hole on Dormie!

15 Jul: #2...it was completely redone this winter by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore (same designers as the Dormie Club and Sand Hills Club, NE). They took out all the rough and made it waste bunkers. What a change from the course we played in 2008. I need to dig some pictures from that trip to show the comparison.

5-9 Jul

this summer is going way too fast...in less than a month both Mark and I will be heading in opposite directions.

5 Jul: We caught this thief trying to steal some of our old computer equipment (or was he trying to hatch it...) Okay, pretty lame, but it was late an we were tired...

6 Jul: Sunflower in my garden

7 Jul: Went to DC for a meeting...haven't seen one of these in a while... Sorry for the poor quality, it was taken with the ipod touch, not the best camera in the world.
