What can be scarier than cutting into the first block of cheese you ever made....if you don't count the goat's milk ricotta that was my second attempt ;[)

I had been hoping to wait till Tad and Rita got here to cut into it, but I noticed some mold growing on one of the areas that the wax had fallen off.  Best bet was to trim it off.  Guess I'll have to start eating it now, darn the luck...
Maybe tomorrow night I'll cut it completely in half and re-wax the other portion for later.

yes, the water was that purple...the minerals and salt accumulates in the bays and in some cases, only a causeway separates the different salinity levels.

moss from one of my orchids, unfortunately the dead one....not sure what happened, all was going well till last week, then it just up and died.  The bad news, it was the one I had at my office.

Antelope Island:  some close ups of bison for Rita...they are different ones in each picture, but I was able to get relatively close, especially with the larger lens ( I really need a better one though...).  The bison round-up is in a few weeks, so that should be fun!

I had all sorts of plans to get a great picture this evening, given the slight clouds and full moon...until my car got hit with a rock and cracked the windshield.  Then to top it off, my goat's milk is not setting up right for cheese ;-(

Nothing better than playing golf with snow on the mountains... highs today were in the low 50's, but it was very comfortable with shorts and long sleeve shirt, and occasional jacket.

6 Oct 11:  Pay close attention to the top of the mountains...tell me what's wrong with that picture on this date...so much for global warming.  I look out my front windows to the mountains that are covered in the white stuff...none at the house, yet.  Next week it's suppose to be in the 70's again.  I drove out to Antelope Island to try to shoot back toward the east, but the clouds were in the way (2nd and 4th photos)

Self Portrait Time

Here are few self portraits from this morning... I didn't think too well when planning my outfit, as it blended with the leaves.  I took a drive through Ogden Canyon over to SnowBasin Ski area.  Colors are really changing now...
